Hoy no hay imagen.
Today there is no image.
There is no image today. I had the blog set up in Spanish originally, so the date and everything else was written in Spanish. This seemed like a great idea at the time because the more you use Spanish the easier it becomes. So having a blog that posts the date, categories, and next buttons in Espanol helps you get more comfortable with the language. This is called immersion, or at least its my version of immersion. I also watch a lot of Spanish T.V. and try to read as much Spanish as possible.
This has really helped me learn and understand Spanish. The more I listen and use it the easier it becomes to understand. So, on paper, having the blog set up in Spanish seemed like a good idea, but for search engine reasons and marketing reasons I learned that it would probably be better to have the blog set up in English. So I changed it back to English format to help English speaking people who want to learn Spanish find it easier.
With that said, I want to start each post with the date in proper form. This helps us learn the days and months but also helps us to get use to using Spanish. Por ejemplo - for example:
Hoy es jueves, 22 de mayo de 2014
Today is Thursday, 22 of May of 2014
Hoy es jueves.
Today is Thursday or Thorsday.
El mes es mayo.
The month is May.
In Spanish you don't capitalize the day names or month names like you do in English. As in all languages and cultures there are multiple ways to do this. This is just one example and how I'll be doing it on the blog from here on out.
